Fourth of July in Colorado

The Rocky Mountain Freedom Festival:

Join Master Cookers from throughout the US converge on Douglas County to prepare their mouth-watering specialties, in hopes of impressing the judges and walking away with more than $8500 in cash prizes and bragging rights! Some of the best BBQ Cook Teams in the country will be competing this summer at the Rocky Mountain Freedom Festival – you could be one of them! Boasting more than $8500 in prize money, the Inaugural Rocky Mountain Freedom Festival BBQ Competition is sanctioned by KCBS and is a RMBBQA Cup Event held in Castle Rock, Colorado, on July 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2011.

Colorado’s most sought after musical groups will take the stage alongside Regional and National talent. Together, they will entertain festival-goers with a variety of music and performance styles. Check stage schedule.

…and of course, it wouldn’t be a “Festival” without a carnival. EXCITEMENT IS BUILDING – as The Rocky Mountain Freedom Festival prepares to host one of Colorado’s largest carnivals.

I for one am excited to have this great event in Castle Rock. This is the “HUB” of Douglas County and is situated right in the middle of Denver and Colorado Springs. To learn more go to: http://www.rockymountainfreedomfestival.com/

Did you know…

ARAPAHOE BASIN – This will be one of the warmest weeks of 2011 and people are still snow-skiing in Colorado.  A-Basin has a 40-inch base as of today Monday (June 27th). Even with daytime temperatures in the 60s, A-Basin still has 15 trails open and will open for at least one more weekend. So be sure to take advantage of a Fourth of July ski weekend!
